BSE Licensing Setup Guide

Thank you for your BSE Software purchase! These instructions will license the intended host machine with your BSE software.

These steps should not be performed by a user, if licenses are hosted on a network server. This guide is only for the licensing process of a host machine.

Section 1

Step 1: Install the BSD License Manager

  1. Download the BSD License Manager here.
     If zipped, unzip the files.
  2. Extract the files.
    This should bring up the installer (as pictured below). 



  3. Click “Next” until you reach the Install screen.
  4. Click “Install.”
  5. Click “Finish” to complete the install.
     The following icon will appear on your desktop. The text may not appear as “Open LMTOOLS.” The icon will be the same.

Step 2: Generate and send your HostID file to the BlueSky Team for processing

  1. Open LMTOOLS.
  2. Go to the “System Settings” tab.
  3. Click the “Save HostID Info to a file” button.
  4. Save the file to C:\Program Files(x86)\Blue Sky Development,Inc\BSD License Server\.
  5. Email this file to our BlueSky team at: support@blueskyevo.com .

Step 3: Install your License File

  1. Once your license is ready, a Blue Sky team member will email the license file to you.
  2. Save this file to C:\Program Files(x86)\Blue Sky Development,Inc\BSD License Server\.
  3. Open LMTOOLS.
  4. Go to the “Config Services” tab.
  5. Type in a new name in the box designated “Service Name.”
     This step is for new BSD licensing service users. Current BSE users may use their current server name and continue to step 16.
  6. Click on the first “Browse” button to path the lmgrd.exe file.
     This automatically paths to C:\Program Files(x86)\Blue Sky Development,Inc\BSD License Server\.
  7. Select the lmgrd.exe file.
  8. Click “Open.”
  9. Click on the second “Browse” button to path the license file.
     This automatically paths to C:\Program Files(x86)\Blue Sky Development,Inc\BSD License Server\.
  10. Select the .lic file that will be used.
  11. Click “Open.”
  12. Check the “Use Services” and “Start Server at Power Up” boxes.
  13. Click “Save Service.”
  14. Click “Yes” when prompted to save.
  15. Go to the “Stop/Start/Reread” tab.
    For users with no previous install of a BSE product, continue to step 18.
  16. Click the box titled “Force Server Shutdown.”
  17. Click “Stop Server.”
     The message will read “Stopping Server” upon completion, in the bottom left corner of the window.
  18. Click “Start Server."
     The message “Server Start Successful” will appear, in the bottom left corner of the window.
  19. Reread the license file.
     The message will read “Reread Server License File Completed,” in the bottom left corner of the window.

 

Verifying License Status

 To check the status of your license go to the “Server Status” tab of LMTOOLS and click “Perform Status Enquiry.” This will display lmgrd processes, port and server name, license file location, licenses available, and licenses currently in use.



Section 2

Program download and Install

  1. Visit the BSE Support Portal.
  2. Click on the name of the software you wish to download.
  3. Downloads will be listed in the left column. Detailed software installation instructions and user guides are located in the right column.
