How to Fix - Desktop shortcut appearing in the wrong location

"Desktop shortcut appearing in the wrong location" Error:

Issue: When IT is installing LNX for a user, the LNX icon appears on the IT person's desktop instead of the user. 

 

Resolution:

  1. Copy the ArcGIS Pro Shortcut and paste it onto the user's Desktop.
  2. Right-click the Icon, open the Properties and edit the Target location (under the Shortcut tab) to the below path.
    1. "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\ArcGISPro.exe" /config:LightningNexGen
