Importing Data to FT

To quickly get data into the Ft tables in the database, the user is allowed to import this data via delimited CSV files. Currently, DASH has the ability to import files with the following delimiters:

· Comma

· Space

· Tab

· Semi Colon

Before the data can be imported, the columns from the .CSV file must to be mapped to a corresponding column in the FT table.

FT Table Column Names
When selecting the file from the list, all of its field information and the data for the file is displayed in the data grid provided on the form as well as all of the columns from the selected FT table are listed. To match the FT columns to the .CSV file columns, the user will highlight the FT table Column name from the list of Ft table column names. Once the Column name has been selected, use the transfer button to transfer the column name to the Date Source Columns list.

Data Source Columns
The column name in the grid will be updated to reflect the transfer of a Ft table Column Name to the Data Source Columns list. The column in the Grid directly corresponds to the item in the Data Source Column list. The first column in the grid is renamed for the first item in the Data Source Column list, the second column is renamed to the second item in the Data Source Column list…etc.

To move the Data Source Column list item back to the FT table Column Name list, the user will press the transfer back button.

To move all of the Data Source Column list items back to the FT table Column Name list, the user will press the Refresh button.

The items in the Data Source Column list can be reordered by pressing the up or down buttons while one of the items in the list is selected.

If the items in the Data Source Column list gets reordered, the data grid is updated to reflect the reordering.

First Row Contains Field Names
If the first row in the .CSV that will be imported contains column name data, the First Row Contains Field Names checkbox must be selected by the user to insure the importing process ignores the first row when importing the files.

When importing a file, if the user has selected more than one Alignment from the list of available Alignments, a form will appear requesting the user clarify which Alignment the importing data will be attached to.

All Columns to be imported must have a Data Source Column Mapped. If a column is not mapped, it WILL NOT be imported into the database.
