Using The Event Band Tab

Step Requirements

FOR CATEGORY- Materials must be generated
FOR GRAPH– FT (Feature Table, Stationing and Value [no X, Y, Z] Data. FT table must be created; FT data must be imported, and generated as a graph dataset under Profile/Surfaces=> Add Surface => Attach FT Table

Basic (CATEGORY)

  1. Select Event Band Type
  2. Name Event Band
  3. Select border band
  4. Select Category
  5. Adjust layout settings

Advanced

  1. Select the Event Band Type: Category for point and line material events, and Graph for FT [Station, Value] recorded surfaces (created under the Profile/Surfaces tab).
  2. Click on the New Event Band
  3. Name the band
  4. Select the Event Band (location on the selected Template) the data will write to
  5. Select the data to be displayed in the band (Categories for category data, and Surfaces for graphs)
  6. Set the Graph Settings Vertical scale with ‘Scale 1 Inch =’ value or by adjusting the Spacing of Horizontal Lines value
  7. Force data into a particular vertical scale by checking the ‘Override Vertical Scale Optimization’ and changing the ‘Scale 1 Inch =’ value manually
  8. Prevent the graph range from moving from sheet to sheet by checking the ‘Constant Range Bottom Value’ and applying a bottom constant value
  9. Change the data range buffer on the group with ‘Offset Gap Percentage’
  10. Set the number of minor horizontal lines in the graph with ‘Minor Horizontal Lines’. This value should be odd.
  11. ‘Spacing of Vertical Lines’ sets the horizontal distance between grid lines.
  12. Set the number of minor vertical lines in the graph with ‘Minor Vertical Lines’. This value should be odd.
  13. ‘Use Settings from Profile’ will provide the same ‘Additional Graph Options’ as set under the Profile/Surfaces tab
  14. Click ‘Show Station Values on Top’ to draw the stationing of the Major Vertical Lines above the graph.
  15. Click ‘Show Station Values on Bottom’ to draw the stationing of the Major Vertical Lines below the graph.
  16. Click ‘Show Graph Values on Left’ to draw the value range of the Major Horizontal Lines to the left of the graph.
  17. Click ‘Show Graph Values on Right’ to draw the value range of the Major Horizontal Lines to the right of the graph.
  18. ‘Invert Y Axis’ will flip the graph on its horizontal axis and display the negative (lower) range values on top.
